About Promuco
Soon after its founding in Thorne, Yorkshire, UK in 1964, the Professional Music Company (ProMuCo) started providing drum hardware and sticks to musicians across the country.
After a short while, the drumming legend Buddy Rich gave his seal of approval to the company’s drumsticks and helped the brand break into the huge American market.
Promuco soon attracted the attention of many pioneering drummers such as Led Zeppelin’s John Bonham, who required sticks tough enough to withstand his famous hard hitting style. Bonham soon started regularly using Promuco sticks and affectionately named them his ‘trees’. These original Promuco John Bonham drumsticks occasionally find themselves up for auction, selling for in excess of $1000 per pair! There is even a set on display at Biloxi’s Hard Rock Café
