Seagull S6 Collection 1982 052431. To celebrate the acclaimed Seagull S6, which has been on the market for over 40 years, we are pleased to introduce the Seagull S6 Collection 1982. Our guitars are played by musicians of all genres and levels, from beginners to professionals, all over the world! How do we best express our pride in the decades of success of the S6 Original?
By revisiting the guitar of the 1980s — or, more precisely, by creating a version that incorporates all the best features of Seagull guitars at an even more affordable price! To this day, Seagull remains committed to the fundamental principle of selecting the best components available and incorporating them into instruments that remain affordable to all. The S6 Collection 1982 will win you over, both in price and character!
The 1982 Seagull S6 Collection 1982 follows the design of the S6 Original with retro S6 features and a shorter 24.84″ scale. Like all Seagull guitars, the S6 Collection 1982 is made entirely in Canada from sustainably sourced wood. The 1982, like the contemporary S6, features a pressure-tested solid Cedar top with Wild Cherry back and sides for superior tone, projection, and response. The Seagull S6 Collection 1982 has a characteristic tone that is bright, rich, warm, and balanced thanks to the natural finish, which allows the instrument to vibrate naturally.
Finally, we’ve taken the key aesthetic elements of the era. The retro-‘80s headstock and Seagull logo complete this beautiful 100% Canadian acoustic guitar.
The Seagull S6 is known for its classic and simple design, making it a versatile and popular choice among guitarists.
It features a standard dreadnought body shape, which is characterized by its large, rounded body and a relatively wide lower bout. This design produces a balanced and full-bodied sound with good projection.
The top of the guitar is typically made of solid cedar or solid spruce, while the back and sides are often crafted from laminated wild cherry or mahogany. The choice of tonewoods can impact the guitar’s tonal qualities.
The neck is usually made of mahogany and features a comfortable and playable profile, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced players.
The Seagull S6 typically comes with a rosewood fretboard and bridge, which are common choices for acoustic guitars.
Sound and Playability:
The Seagull S6 is known for its rich and warm sound with a good balance between bass, midrange, and treble frequencies.
It’s often praised for its excellent playability, thanks to its well-crafted neck and comfortable action, making it easier to play chords and melodies.
The guitar is suitable for a wide range of musical styles, from folk and acoustic rock to blues and more.
