The academy offers a wide range of programs and courses catering to students of all ages and skill levels.

RIAM Piano Exams

The RIAM piano exams provide a structured curriculum for students to develop their piano skills. These exams are divided into eight grades, each level assessing the student’s technique, repertoire, musicianship, and understanding of music theory. The exams offer a comprehensive evaluation of the student’s overall musicianship and serve as milestones in their musical journey.

Grade 2 Piano Album (Grade II)

It requires a solid foundation in basic techniques, the ability to read musical notation, and a growing repertoire. The RIAM 2024 Piano Album Grade 2 is specifically curated to meet the needs of students at this level.

The importance of the Grade 2 level

Grade 2 serves as a stepping stone between the beginner and intermediate levels. It introduces more complex musical concepts, expands the student’s technical abilities, and nurtures their musicality. Mastering the Grade 2 level sets a strong foundation for further progression and growth in piano playing.

Benefits of using the album for preparation

Preparation for RIAM Grade 2 Exams

Preparing for the Grade 2 piano exam requires focused practice, attention to technique, and the development of essential musicianship skills. Here are some key aspects to consider during the preparation process.

Technical requirements

At Grade 2 level, students are expected to demonstrate proficiency in various technical aspects of piano playing. This includes scales, arpeggios, and other technical exercises. Regular and disciplined practice of these exercises helps improve finger dexterity, coordination, and overall technical fluency.

Sight-reading skills

Sight-reading is a crucial skill for any pianist. The Grade 2 piano exam assesses the student’s ability to read and interpret music in real-time. Practicing sight-reading regularly by working on pieces of different difficulty levels helps improve note recognition, rhythm comprehension, and overall sight-reading proficiency.

Aural skills

Developing aural skills is essential for musicians, as it enhances their ability to recognize and understand musical elements such as pitch, rhythm, and dynamics. The Grade 2 piano exam includes aural tests, where students are required to identify intervals, rhythms, and other musical characteristics. Engaging in ear training exercises and practicing active listening can significantly improve aural skills.

Tips for Successful Exam Preparation

Preparing for the RIAM Grade 2 piano exam can be an enriching and rewarding experience. Here are some tips to help students make the most of their preparation:

Establishing a practice routine
