Hudson Guitar Company.
The Hudson guitar company was conceived by George Ösztreicher and born out of Tanglewood, George was the original founder and designer of the Tanglewood Guitar Company. Having many years previous experience in manufacturing in the music industry, including the ownership of the famous old guitar string manufacturing company, British Music Strings Ltd. which manufactured Cathedral, Summit, Sound City and Londoner Strings.
He was also a director of Kay (Guitars) the USA based manufacturer and distributor. In 2019 the brand name was then sold to Gordon Clarke in Ireland and as a result the contents of the Hudson warehouse was moved from Wales to Ireland. The warehouse was full of amazing sounding guitars which was stored away for over 10 years. Because the tone woods had been allowed to mature for another 10 years or more the sound was amazing.
In the summer of 2019 George Ösztreicher travelled to Ireland to start designing a new range of guitars and Ukuleles.
7 guitars and 2 Ukuleles was the start of the new range which arrived on the market in January of 2020.
George Osztreicher pioneered importing and exporting guitar and violin strings in the United Kingdom back in the 1960s. He formed Cardiff Music Strings. He soon discovered he could have a business based completely on exporting. The first American company to order from George was WMI in Chicago, which owned the Kay brand name. In later years George owned the name and was the first to bring guitars from Korea into the UK.
