About Us

The Sound Shop was established on May 24th 1968 at 14 North Quay, Drogheda. In 1970 we took over the premises no: 13 next door when we acquired the Wurlitzer Organ agency. As the years passed we outgrew both houses and had to look for a larger premises both for the shop and for the school of music. We moved into the Mayoralty House in February 1976 we used the three floors, ground floor our record and Hi-Fi department, first floor pianos and organs and the top floor all other musical instruments and pa systems.

 

Over the years we ceased selling Hi Fi, video and cd's. We now concentrate on musical instruments, drums, pa systems, and music books. In May 2007 we moved to our new Super Store in East Coast Business Park,Where we also have The Boyne School of Music Every year we run the Irish Guitar Fair in the Europa Hotel, Dublin Road, Drogheda. At the fair we exhibit a full range of guitars including Fender, Gibson, Seagull, Simon & Patrick, Martin, Lowden,Ibanex, Jackson, Stagg, Art & Luthrie, Taylor, Godin, La Patrie, Alhambra. Takamine, Garrision, Aria, Epiphone, Guild, Burns, and many more. Guitar amps by Fender, Roland, Carlsbro, Marshall, Vox, Elka, Peavey, Engl, Line 6 Ampeg and all other good brands.
